PewDiePie has shared an emotional tribute to YouTuber Etika, who was tragically confirmed dead aged 29 by the New York Police Department on Tuesday (June 25).

Etika, born Desmond Amofah, went missing a week ago after posting a worrying YouTube video titled "I'm sorry" – which has since been deleted – where he admitted he had "suicidal" thoughts. Earlier this week, a backpack containing a phone, driving licence, headphones, wallet and a Nintendo Switch, believed to have belonged to Etika were found by a bridge in New York.
The New York Police Department then responded to an emergency call at 6.18pm and police later confirmed that the male was pronounced dead on the scene. "We regret to inform that Desmond Amofah aka Etika has been found deceased," a tweet from NYPD news read.
